The Contemporary Art Platform, in collaboration with the Greek Embassy in Kuwait, is pleased to present Folded Seas by Greek artist Calliope Iconomacou.

Join us on March 26, 2025 at 8 PM for an exhibition exploring the fluidity, movement and multidimensional nature of the sea through stunning paintings and digital prints. Each piece captures the endless motion and serene calm of water in a masterful play of abstraction and rich tonalities.

About the Artist: Calliope Iconomacou

 

EDUCATION
• 1981-1986: Graduate of the Athens School of Fine Arts, Department of
Painting, under professors D. Mytaras and N. Kessanlis. Art History with
professor M. Lambraki-Plaka.
• 1978-1981: Vakalo School of Applied Arts and Design. Professors: Eleni
Vakalo, Ch. Botsoglou, V. Dimitreas.
• 1978-1980: Painting workshop with D. Kokkinidis.
Member of the Chamber of Fine Arts (since 1986).

UPCOMING PROJECTS
• 2024 – Mati, Attica – Memorial Artwork “Burning Sphere” (pending
installation).
• 2020 – “The Cargo Project”, a multimedia immersive experience on Climate
Crisis.

• 2006: Solo multimedia exhibition “Little Princes” at ACS Art Center, with
music composed by Konstantinos Michailidis and curated by Iris Kritikou
(supported by MDA HELLAS).
• 2004: Illustration of the comic book “THE TRUCE STORY” for the Olympic
Truce Foundation, curated by Dora Palli, signed by Kofi Annan (UN
Secretary-General) and Jacques Rogge (IOC President).
• 1997: Byzantine Chapel, Minoriten Museum, Graz, Austria, for the World
Council of Churches.
• 1990: Solo exhibition at ZYGOS Gallery, Athens, curated by S. Kontaratou.
